SSWTC Treatment Capacities

SCHEDULED WASTE-TO-ENERGY (SWTE) FACILITY

The SWTE incineration treatment system comprises a high-temperature Rotary Kiln-Stoker and a Secondary Combustion Chamber with an effective flue gas-cleaning system ensuring the treatment of wastes meets the thermal destruction efficiency of 99.99% of the Clean Air Regulation 2014 emission standards by the Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia.

Our incineration facility has been designed to treat all organics, such as mineral oil waste, waste solvents, pesticide waste, and waste containing halogens ad sulphur.  Inorganic waste such as metal hydroxide waste that contains more than 10% TOC shall be incinerated in this plant.  Clinical and pathogenic wastes can also be received in our facility for final treatment and disposal.

The by-products generated from the incineration processes such as slag, fly ash, and flue-gas cleaning residues shall be solidified when necessary and finally deposited into the secure landfill facility. Slag may also be disposed of directly into the secure landfill facility provided that its characteristics comply with the secure landfill acceptance criteria.

Our Incineration plant shall not receive and treat any radioactive and explosive Scheduled Wastes. The total heat energy generated by the activity of the combustion in the incineration system as approved by the Department of Environment (DOE) Malaysia shall not be more than 332,150 Giga Joules per year or approximately 20,000 tons per year.
